Suomessa esiintyvä korruptio ei ole "perinteistä korruptiota". Tämän takia on hankala määritellä mikä lasketaan korruptioksi mikä ei.
Hassua siitä tekee myös sen, kuinka perinteissä se onkaan kiinni. Sen takia kuntien jne toimia harvemmin pidetään korruptiona, koska kyseistä toimintaa pidetään ihan normina. Mutta kuten sanoinkin, asian vähättely ja "normalisointi" ei tee korruptiosta sen vähempää korruptiota.
