there is only a pub matchmaking, ranked matchmaking and private servers but these servers are hosted by blizzard, you can't connect via ip, so rip unofficial matchmaking, gotta play with the pleb

i'm still in contact with my old WoW guild and these guys literally never played a fps in their life and will only play Overwatch because it's from Blizzard, i cant even think about playing with these kind of people in my team

and since there is no dedicated servers it will be impossible to have things like FACEIT or ESL Gather that make you play with and against actual "decent" players, so yeah playing only pub matchmaking will be boring unless you have friends (thats what happened to me during the closed beta, game was fun until i knew everything about the heroes and maps, then it got boring because people are dumb, and on a game like this where the team composition matters to win it's just not fun at all. i had to adapt to my team on like 90% of the games i played because people want to take their favorite hero and won't change) there will be a ranked matchmaking but i don't think it will give people a brain, other games already proved it

team-based games sucks anyway

when i see all the hype around overwatch i don't think it will be any better, especially when its coming from casual non-fps players
