At least you have some upload speed. Sure, ain't enough to upload big files on a regular basis, but better than having like, 2 Mb/s like me. I don't plan on being a YouTube star so I don't need 500up, but it sure as fuck would be nice to have a bit more since I sometimes need to transfer 5-6 GB files and it takes a fucking eternity.
I don't see a reason for having any more than a 100down unless you just want to brag, since I highly doubt any weeb here doesn't have time to spare for downloading files in 10 minutes instead of 5 or 3.
I think you misunderstand, as always when it comes to these kinds of things.
You're right, I don't >>NEED<< 300 mbps download and 60 mbps up. I don't >>NEED<< to be able to download thing at 40 MB/s. I also don't >>NEED<< to be able to upload things faster than you can download them on your third world connection.
But do I want to ? Fuck yes I do, and so I pay for these speeds because I can afford it without breaking my bank. Some people don't like to sit around waiting for things to get done, and I'm one of those people.
Now I can download 20GB in less than 10 minutes and it's great. The average good quality 1080p encode is around 10GB, so I can just about decide I want to watch a movie, go make popcorn while movie downloads, and it'll be ready when I get back to my computer.
