What? Have you ever been in a LDR? No you don't have to meet the other person for you to be in a relationship with them, that's where my entire argument rests. We live in a world where you can date pixels on the screen just because you choose to believe that they're representing the human on the other side, but you can't date a fictional character, even though you can't prove that either one of those exist.
I already went through this with the little Israeli on Skype.

For the record: I have. And also for the record: For this purpose "chatting over the internet" fulfills the having met in some form criteria.
If you're curious, this LDS relationsip did not directly result from meeting online, altough indirectly it did. I met a guy i found really nice online and we found out we live relatively close. Stuff happens and about an year later he moves away for college and we tried to keep the relationship alive despite the long distance. Obviously, that didnt work out so well.
Anyways, fictional character are not real, not living. Weter the you can prove the person on the internet to be real doesnt matter here since that person is capable of loving whereas the fictional character isnt - the whole issue with relationships with fictional characters. Also, just throwing this out here, if you want it really correct, you can not prove your very own existence to yourself even, what if you just are a fictional character someone wrote doing what we are doing right now? Thus i consider weter something is real or not, a moot point to begin with.
Yes, we always take the easy route and assume who we speak with and our own exsistence is real - after all, why waste thoughts on something ultimatively pointless and impossible to answer?

I think you're overlooking something there Aurani, in order for an long distance relationship to form you have to have met one way or the other and have interacted with each other, conversely a fictional character can not do either of these - An AI doesnt count since these can simulate affection at best, not truly feel it.
A long distance relationship revolves around mutual affection, thus is acceptable but for fictional characters its a onesided "relationship" - they can not love nor is there ever any interaction between you and the character (short of what you dream up, which, honestly, IS pretty creepy). Such would be more akin to worshipping an deity and as far i am concerned, is exactly that.

Also, for everyone that thinks they cant participate because they're banned over in osu!; Why should it matter? I doubt the BN actually care about this and it isnt even as trough you're the uploader - that would be B1rd. Or someone well known in the modding community... cause the system is shit and you hardly get any mods otherwise.
I myself wont be mapping; i dont know anything bout std but i might try to make a (really shitty, probably) ctb guest diff for it?
