E-liquid, ejuice or liquid used in electric cigarettes. The base for the liquid is made of
-Vegetably Glycerin = VG which
creates most of the vapor and is bit sweet by itself,much thicker than PG, non-allergic, carries less flavor but can be used solely as the base liquid

-Propylene Glycol = PG is used because it carries more flavor but generates less vapor, gives better throat hit and is thinner than VG. Can cause allergic reactions to some people=makes their skin go red and itchy but nothing really serious.

-Flavour concentrates which are used to mix your own liquids are PG based, contains all of the "unknown chemicals" but usually the flavors are organic so shouldn't be really harmful.

-Nicotine or NicBase is made of 2 ingredient's: PG or VG + nicotine(usually 3-10%/), i use VG based nicotine as i want my liquids to contain as little as possible of PG, not because i'm allergic but i dont ilke the throat hit and i already get enough flavour for my taste with VG

You can get nicotine-free liquids or make your own like i do, if it doesn't contain nicotine it's not physically addictive. The electronic-cigarette was invented to make it much,much,much easier to quit smoking or atleast give you much healthier substitute that probably wont directly kill you. One of the thing is that you can precicely adjust how much nicotine you are using at a time without having "to stop smoking" And little by little tone it down until you reach the point you dont need nicotine anymore. I started 2 years ago from 12mg/ml but still smoked everyday, now i'm down to 3mg/ml and i stopped daily smoking 5 months ago, now only occasionally smoking when drunk and not really craving for nicotine anymore

tl;dr Only physically addictive and legally regulated ingredient in e-juice is nicotine, but the habit itself can be addictive like any other activity. Vaping is best way to quit smoking or atleast reduce it.
