I read a history of Land Warfare, which was interesting since I got to learn about WW1. I also like to think of the battle of Stalingrad and the Eastern front, which have such an epic magnitude that happens when two great nations mobilize and clash in total war.

Books I also bought recently are:

Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon (x4),
Fountainhead and Atlas shrugged by Ayn Rand,
Brave New World by Vintage Huxley
Dante's Divine Comedy (since people were talking about it I thought I'd give a crack at it)

Some other books I bought in the past year or so:

1984, Burmese Days, Keep the Aspidistra Flying and Animal Farm By George Orwell,
Shooting the Stickbow by Anthony Camera
and The Bowyer's Bible, book 1-4.

Have you started Atlas Shrugged/Fountainhead yet? Been thinking of picking those two up as well.

At least FO4 was colourful and the combat was actually good.

using colorful to describe fo4 actually triggers me so hard. if by colorful you mean a palette between sticky poop brown and lung cancer gray, then yes, it's a very vivid world.

Skyrim is okay at best while Fallout 4 is probably the worst game I've ever played in its entirety.

I've never played a good Bethesda game in my life. Every single one was dogshit at best. I really don't understand the hype for any of the games they make.

How far are you into it?

A little over a third into Inferno. Taking my time to ensure I understand every reference made to both historical and mythological places/figures/etc., so I'm incredibly slow getting through it all.

That's good; Dante put an astonishing amount of wit and thought into those references. Is it an annotated version? It should simplify things somewhat.

Yeah, the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow version. Picked it mostly because it contains artwork from Doré. I love Doré his work.

And your general reputation among the mod team. I got month long silences for the smallest things at times.

Yeah I guess. I mean, I used to get banned all the time but I haven't really been as active as I used to be these last 4 years.

brian doesn't count. even when he's being autistic he's somehow cool. he's too good for any of us. fuck you brian.

But to actually contribute for once; I'm reading Dante's Divine Comedy atm. and I'm actually enjoying it a lot. I hope this is the start of me actually being able to garnish the motivation to start Goethe's Faust and Virgil's Aeneid as I've been wanting to read those for ages. But motivation is a sumptuous slut and I'll be down on all fours in a split second.

Meanwhile, the most venomous snake in Europe lives here. Thank the gods for them only dwelling on the mountain forests.

And to think (when I was like 8~12) I used to walk up the mountains in south-Croatia with shorts & slippers trying to catch Shelob spiders and other abnormalities. I did once hear a rattle snake but thank god tiny me was smart enough not to fuck with that.
