Alpha and beta as used in internet context reminds me heavily of the way people refer to the term autism online. A no-meaning filler word used to describe something you don't like.
What continuously bothers me is that people can't help but attach a negative connotation to the Beta label. Most of the time I've found it's advantageous to be of the submissive rather than the commanding personality. People like you if you're open to listening to them rather than strictly telling them what to do. This is not to say Betas can't be good leaders, just less dictator-like.

Did you miss reading the "without any profit" part? How the fuck do I get anything out of showing someone where a specific building in the city is? The guy literally listened to me, got where the building was and just walked away. No goodbye, no thanks, NOTHING.
I could've come to the conclusion that he's just utterly socially maladroit, but judging by the way he approached me there is NO WAY that is the case. He's just that uncultured.I don't know about you, but I sure as fuck felt like a cheap whore at that moment.
they're not being very polite, sure, but your intentions of helping them are ungenuine if you regret helping them because they did not give anything in return, even if it is as little as a simple thanks
