I'd prefer if she tried it out of her own accord but whether someone is fit for "blazing it" depends entirely on the individual. Some people smoke pot with reckless abandon just to get "fucked up" while others aim for a sweetspot where it acts as a nice aid for thinking, working or anything really without dulling you in the same way alcohol does. I've heard musicians play while sober and while stoned and I must admit that they play better when they're stoned.

If you're a productive person you will use it productively,  and if you're an unproductive person you will use it unproductively.

so I guess I would prefer it if she smoked pot and played the tuba. But I would dislike it if she just used it as a way to stave off boredom and sat on her ass all day watching anime while leeching off of me for financial support

Oh yeah I didn't even answer the question. Growing up? That's a tough one. I think it should be an adult thing. But even this depends on how "mature" a person is. Some adults can't behave responsibly and some kids can. I'm concerned it might have an effect on her mental development but this is something I have no basis on whatsoever. But it's still the sort of thing I wouldn't take a chance on.

kind of a similar thing has happened with pot in that it's been bred specifically to increase the levels of thc (like liquor compared to beer) in order to minimize the risk of doing something illegal while being efficient at it, making for a far more potent product more suited for escapism than medicinal use which in turn causes a lot of people to think that it's a good thing it was made illegal in the first place
