I've played it for one hour in coop with a friend and it was pretty boring, not enough enemy variety, gameplay doesn't feel smooth it's literally kiting + aoe, sounds are buggy.
They're using the early access excuse but i doubt the game will get any better because it's being developed by no-name developers.
Just pirate it if you want to get your own opinion, don't buy early access games.

I'm not sure if I'd call Rooster Teeth a no-name developer, they're pretty well known. From what I've heard, the RWBY team is also pretty passionate about what they do, which is why I think they'll hold up on their promises to improve the game as time goes by.
A better idea would be to buy it, play with it for a bit, and get it refunded if you don't like what you're seeing. There's no point in pirating such a cheap game anymore since refunds are a thing.
