There's a good reason why she's overly kind to you, but you have to really read between the lines after finishing the entire game

Basically, since both her sons (Chara and Asriel) died, she's been projecting her failure to protect and care for them on the humans that fell down into the hole which includes Frisk.

I jumped into the game without knowing (almost) anything about it. I had no idea who Toriel really was or what her motives were, so from the perspective of a clueless first-time player, she came off as seriously clingy and overly kind.

Still, my favs are definitely Undyne and Muffet. The music during those two bossfights is also nothing short of epic because it fits SO GODDAMN MUCH.
Undyne is the type of character perfect for a bromance and Muffet's playful nature makes you want to keep playing the boss fight forever.

Of course, that's all coming from someone who has only played the Neutral route, so I have no bloody idea how they'll react once I go through the Pacifist route and ESPECIALLY the Genocide one. I hope the fights are more challenging, too.
