The original work is pretty much always better, except for Higurashi, because 07th Expansion can't draw for shit.
Although I guess the remake is actually playable due to the art upgrade.
Also Tutturu-chan is where it's at.

Hey, that's the only anime I've ever watched more than 2 times, currently sitting at 4.
And here I was thinking that perhaps you had decent taste. Steins;Gate is the most overrated anime/VN in existence. Hey, it's not bad -- mediocre, yes -- but the only offensive thing about it is its unmerited popularity.

I watched Stein's Gate when it was originally airing and back then the hype was not even a 50th of what it gets today. Yes, the show retains most of its original VN shit like stereotypical female characters, completely illogical dating episodes and some general filler content, but despite all those things, it's a good anime with proper lead character development (most of the time, at least) and an actual plot that could've sparked a whole other season if they didn't all jam it into 25 eps.
Just because a show is hyped doesn't immediately mean it's shit. That's the main argument I have against all the faggots who spit on X anime because their mongrel friend told them it's shit.
If we nitpick EVERY anime, we'll soon come to the conclusion that there is literally NO anime after 2010. that is NOT shit, according to your taste. You name me one and I'll give you a whole list of problems the show has. So yes, Stein's Gate isn't as flawless as every fanboy claims it to be, but it sure as fuck is entertaining to watch, and that's what ultimately matters.

I played Steins;Gate for a bit, and didn't like it. It seemed like too much psychological BS with an overcomplicated plot. That said, I'm not gonna start calling it crap because I don't like it, and I'd probably like it if I just spent a bit more time playing it.
