Breaking down items into gems looks so effing retarded to me. Destroy this card you'd be able to sell for 0.03$ to gain like 5 gems. If you destroy like 200 cards this way you can gain 5 new cards which you may already have.
... Or you effing think and sell 10 cards at 0.02$ and spend the resulting 0.20$ to buy 6 cards at 0.03$ each, cards you know beforehand what they are thus wont be duplicates, ever. (that is assuming you dont have the skills to get better prices, those sell/buy values are the respective most common offer)
Right, so breaking down cards is a very very bad idea. Lets look what else you san break down... emotions, profile backgrounds. Which you gain sometimes when you complete badges by collecting a full set of cards (usually around 10).
Thus, breaking down these is even more lossy. Not only that, they dont grant any more gems when destroyed than cards and also have a far higher market price.
Do yourself a favour and learn basic economics.

It's not even about learning economics because I have no clue what steam items even are for because for years all I did on steam was use it to talk to people before buying a single game. And I don't care what use items have because they're inconsequential to me. I don't want to bother selling and buying shit. What's your argument for learning now?

7 games here.
If you added all the games that I really wanted, the total would probably be around 15ish games. Meanwhile, seeing people with 400+ games.
