You're right, I don't >>NEED<< 300 mbps download and 60 mbps up. I don't >>NEED<< to be able to download thing at 40 MB/s. I also don't >>NEED<< to be able to upload things faster than you can download them on your third world connection.
But do I want to ? Fuck yes I do, and so I pay for these speeds because I can afford it without breaking my bank. Some people don't like to sit around waiting for things to get done, and I'm one of those people.
Now I can download 20GB in less than 10 minutes and it's great. The average good quality 1080p encode is around 10GB, so I can just about decide I want to watch a movie, go make popcorn while movie downloads, and it'll be ready when I get back to my computer.

You're the one here taking things way too personally, just because my point included you.

My post wasn't about you needing to be an Ethiopian and live your life in poverty just so you can match the rest of the world, but about the fact that you don't need to go to the other extreme either. People nowadays, especially in incredibly rich countries, have lost all connection to what is right in this world. The state of the world will have to change, or humanity is going to go to shit, as it already is. We are the only species on this planet that takes things without needing it for "survival" (I put it in quotation marks because having an internet connection is not required for the basic survival, but for its branches).
I'm not going to preach how we should enforce fucking Communism since that ideology won't EVER work on rotten human beings, but just to take it down a peg, because in this day and age, even our fucking desires have desires of their own. To say that we've become overly indulgent is not even close to describing it.

You don't have to worry, since I don't give a damn about you in specific, but the state of the world. You alone don't make the problem - it's everyone together; the butterfly effect.

Also, I wouldn't say I have a third-world country connection, so don't worry, it's not jealousy speaking. I have more important things to be jealous about when it comes to the place you live in - such as your proximity to places I'd love to visit but haven't had the time to do so.
