Apparently my dad died today

Is it wrong that I don't really care? My parents have been separated since I was 3 years old, and I saw him on weekends, but he never really made an effort to be a father towards me, but I'm surprised at how little I actually care

You are allowed to not care. Who cares that you don't care. If you don't care, you don't care, and trying to have shame about it because you feel you should is just having a negative emotion for no reason.

Though if you really feel like you need to feel bad about it, then it might hit you later on. You might not have came to the full retaliation of your father's death. That's what happened to me - I felt numb at first. Everyone just has different reactions.

The one thing I can never understand about people is when they say they don't care about (or even hate) their parents. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those two bastards gave you your life - a chance to experience things. I would not be able to outright hate or even not care about someone who has the same blood as me, who is the sole reason of my existence.
Yes, I would understand if your father abused the living shit out of you, made your life a living Hell that you have to slowly claw your way out of, but not giving a single shit when he did nothing to you apart from not bringing you up is just something I can't comprehend.
He is your father and that will never change. You'll understand how much of an impact parents (even alienated ones) have on your life when you're older.

I had a somehow neutral relationship with my father, I still miss him at times.

I place a seriously wide line between my parents (and siblings that I sadly don't have) and the rest of the world. Every other person on this planet is a potential enemy to your survival and growth as a person, but parents are in that special zone, unless they made you just so they can use you (hence why I mentioned it up in the last post).
I can't help but cringe and feel sad when I see someone bashing their parents for silly things such as them not buying something they wanted. The fact that they made you should be enough for you to be eternally thankful to them if nothing else. They can make you and then ditch you on the street and you should STILL be thankful. That's the basis of my post; just bringing you into this world without hindering your voyage as a person is enough for you to be happy that they're your parents, so not caring about one of them just because they didn't bring you up is something I cannot comprehend, and I pity anyone who can't realise it.

Aurani, what's your thought on parents who have children because of social pressure? Like because somebody wants a grandchild or because society expect people at their age to have at least one child. Yes basic office peripals. I dont belive in gaming peripals. Need no macros and extra buttons. Yes mech kb feels better but i hardly think its much important, ive been doing with a cheap membrane kb just fine.
