Re: ITT: Pretend we are still writing in osu! OT

I know nothing about pc parts, but I have the Logitech G400s and the two thumb buttons are so convenient. I haven't clicked the back button on my browser for months.

I also have the M100 and I say it's pretty good, a bit expensive compared to $1 Chinese mouse, but the tracking is much more satisfying.

Buying a 3 generations old cpu isn't something I'd do, though it would work.

The one thing I can never understand about people is when they say they don't care about (or even hate) their parents. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those two bastards gave you your life - a chance to experience things. I would not be able to outright hate or even not care about someone who has the same blood as me, who is the sole reason of my existence.
Yes, I would understand if your father abused the living shit out of you, made your life a living Hell that you have to slowly claw your way out of, but not giving a single shit when he did nothing to you apart from not bringing you up is just something I can't comprehend.
He is your father and that will never change. You'll understand how much of an impact parents (even alienated ones) have on your life when you're older.

He's had very little impact on my life, though. My parents had been separated since I was 3, and while I saw him at weekends, he never really made an effort to interact with me. The last time I saw him was in October. I don't talk to him or interact with him, ever. Which is why I feel his death is utterly inconsequential to me. He wasn't abusive at all, but at the same time, he didn't do anything for me.

What you said is pretty much exactly what I'm thinking, but I need a reason to care for him, and just "Being my parent" doesn't cut it for me. My mother is my parent too, and she's supported me for 17 years. That deserves care. Not the one who couldn't be arsed to try and know his son. I don't feel he's had any real impact on my life, at all.

Well, theres always alt + left... does the same thing. So yeah i just dont see the point in them. Unless you play say mmos and the normal number hotkeys just aint enough or chaincasting (if the game doesnt have it as feature to begin with... >_>).

Yeah i like the M100, has accompanied me trough most of my pc using history.

Hm. The i7 is much pricier tho. Or do you mean these 4 numbers after the iX?

Which would you get?

Maybe I worded it incorrectly, but what I meant was that you don't need to love him, you just need to care about his life. Your post shows exactly what I mean in the part where I mention that I cringe whenever I watch those kiddies who feel like their parents HAVE to feed them gold. Your mother has been caring for you for 17 years? You better fucking do something good with your life then. She practically sacrificed 17 years of her life to make you into a decent person, so it's up to you to be successful. Your father doesn't deserve ANY credit, but he doesn't deserve your apathy either, because he (at the very least) gave you your life.

I guess I'm just too sleepy so I started going in all directions with those posts. I should've just said that I don't understand when we began feeling like our parents OWE us a good upbringing.
Basically, most people have this point of view (example):
Dad went away and did not contribute to my upbringing = fuck him, he's a no one to me (negative)
Mom brought me up = yeah, that's expected of her (neutral)
instead of
Dad went away and did not contribute to my upbringing = okay, that's fine, I just hope he made the right choice and won't regret it later (neutral)
Mom brought me up = thank all the gods I have her on my side (positive)

My posts probably would've made more sense if my eyes weren't feeling like I spent the last 5 nights in Chernobyl's power plant.

The four numbers on the model denote generation and relative performance inside said generation.
i5-4690K is the Haswell equivalent and i5-6600K is the Skylake equivalent of the one you've picked. Broadwell was not a thing on the desktop.

Don't worry mate, you don't have to agree with me, as long as you take a look at things from multiple perspectives before coming to a conclusion. =)

Re: ITT: Pretend we are still writing in osu! OT

Im still thinking theres nothing wrong with treating your father, who is a stranger to you, little more like than you would treat an stranger. Remember thats not exactly a negative, just a neutral. (imo)

So the i5-6600K is the newest of new?
Hmm, the pcpartpicker doesnt show me ones newer than the 3xxx ones... This must mean the motherboard i picked is incompatible with newer stuff...?
So i need a better one if i want better cpu. Ugh. Thus more pricy mobo&cpu...

So if im getting this right, i put outdated hardware in? How future proof is this build assuming i dont update the motherboard/cpu now?

Thing is, I do agree with you. Everything you've said makes perfect sense, so thanks for helping me think about things in a different way.
