A tesla would possibly be a bad investment in the long run. But we'll see in a few years.

Bad investment how? Fuel prices are rising and rising so it would be the opposite in my opinion.
Not like I would keep the car forever either; I would probably buy a completely new car model after 2 to 3 years.

Not so much fuel prices. I think certain places where I live will charge you tons to charge your car.
