Maybe I worded it incorrectly, or the thoughts lay beneath the veil of obscurity, but what I actually meant was that I wish I was either born in the distant past, the one I love, or not at all. I hold no love for the present, and if you asked me how I would cope without the most important thing: the internet, I would answer that I do not love it either, as it only serves as a tool I could live without.

I'm doing nothing with my life, apart from gaining knowledge that I hold dear. I hold no love for the people of the present, with their twisted souls and two-faced morals. The people have been the same in the past, undoubtedly, but the advances of our civilisation meant the advancement of our flaws, too. I would not care if I was an emperor, a soldier, a farmer, a slave or even a woman back in the day, without medication or a safe existence, for I would at least have a purpose in my life.
As it stands, I feel no attachment to the savages of the present, and when the last person I love meets the shores of the afterlife, I will have lost everything; all the tethers that bind me to this world. What becomes of me then? What meaning does my life hold? I do not know, and I am frankly too scared to even try to find meaning behind it, as the last time I sailed into the uncharted waters of my thoughts, my heart hardened until I was no longer the person I knew.

I think I overdid it with the Shakespearean shit, but everything I said was real beyond question.

People didn't really have any "purpose" in ye olden days. They tried to stay alive, make more alive people, and kill those other assholes for resources (or religious reasons). Like, if you wouldn't mind being a soldier, why not join the army right now?

It sounds like your main problem is people being assholes, which is a thing that happened all the goddamn time in the past. It's just that now people know shittons of other people so they have more "outsiders" they can be assholes to.

If the only reason you're sticking around is people you like, there's at least a few billion more people you can meet ad try to develop a connection with. I don't know what your standards of love are, but I'm pretty sure at least one of the people you talk to is gonna be more than a two-faced savage neverdowell.

Or you can just not have fun. Maybe even kill yourself. It's your life! Just make sure you use an exitbag and do it in the bath-tub, that way it's guaranteed to be lethal and whoever finds you will have an easy cleanup.

The reason I'd never even be an officer in an army today is exactly because of what I said earlier - I hold nothing dear in this world, so I would never give my life away for a cause. Back in the day, people had more honest motives behind joining an army, and even if giving your life for your kingdom/empire was also a cleverly crafted hoax to draw more soldiers in, at least they all stood as one, to protect what they hold dear and even profit on the side, just to be able to survive.
I love Serbia and I love Germany, but would I give my life for them today, in this time? Never, I wouldn't even think twice before fucking off if a war were to happen. It's not because I'm not a patriot, but because I would throw my life away for nothing. What would I stand for? Who would I protect? These idiots who cry because their mothers skipped making them lunch; the same ones who cry because their phone isn't the damn newest iPhone? Those same people would sit in a corner and suck anyone's dick, just to retain status quo. They have no honour, their emotional deceit going far beyond even a mindless murderer back in the day. I would rather see my head atop a pike, than protect these half-living shits. I love both the countries, but not the people living in them, and protecting the people in Serbia a 100 years ago and giving my life for them would hold some meaning, but nowadays, I wouldn't give two fucks if they were all to disappear, with their indifference towards everything and their gluttony-styled life.
So nope, the answer is no.

I already pointed out how people shared the same traits in the past, but with advances in our social life and other branches, so too did the negative aspects advance.

I also said that I only have one person I love in this world, and it's been quite a few years since I began feeling that way, and I have yet to come to truly like someone so much that they grow to my heart. Sadly, the way society works nowadays, chances are that I will never find anyone who truly moves me.

Nay, you mistake intent. I wouldn't kill myself just because I can't find a purpose in my life. There is far too much to be learned for me to greet the afterlife so soon. Besides, an existential crisis isn't truly a depression, contrary to what most sources will tell you. :p

I don't have a purpose in life either.

I just want to live until I'm tired of it, which I expect won't be soon. I enjoy the things I enjoy and avoid the things I don't enjoy. When I no longer enjoy the things I enjoy, I search for other things to enjoy.

I don't see why you would want to be born in a time where a purpose is simply given to you by some external source, be it your country that equips you with an unhealthy does of patriotism, or your local religion that indoctrinates you to follow a questionable belief-system.
I don't need these things. I just need my brain and this world, things or people that I can interact with.

You do nothing with your life? Rest assured, the vast majority of people only contributed to humanities advance in ways that negligible, you might as well say that they didn't contribute anything at all. That however, is good enough for most of us. What else is there to do? Just live your life and then die, like the rest of us.

There is no way of actually describing what I feel for that time period, loving it so much that I'd willingly give up advanced health care, a safe home with little possibility of dying from accidents and with food securely on the table. I'd sacrifice it all except that one person I hold dear, to live in the past.

Call me a fool, but I just don't belong in the present, among the people I hate and living a lifestyle I find exhaustingly unsatisfying. Sadly, I could not choose where and when I would be born, so I'll make do with what I have and dream of how it might have been when life had a true meaning.

It is quite funny how today we have all these laws that guarantee your safety and retribution in case of a loss of life that practically scream "every life matters" when 99% of people are merely flesh bags; shells without life in them, whilst back in the old days, a life didn't matter much but was lived creatively, with resourcefulness and extreme dedication towards a goal - in other words, you TRULY lived your life, even if you died in a ditch at the age of 18.

you are a fool. An complete fool for thinking that lives were more fulfilled in the past compared to today. If you were to be sent to the past, you'd get utterly disappointed.

People struggled a whole lot more, had actual existential worries, had a bigger set of borderline insane ideas and beliefs, and were much less educated. Apart from that, they were just people. Theres nothing magical about the past and the people that lived in the past. They didn't dedicate their lives 100% for one certain goal - monk style. They just lived their lives, with detours and distraction.
A difference is, that life then was much simpler than it is today. The societal framework nowadays is just much more complex than it used to be, which confuses people (including myself, like wtf).

Dying with a radical mindset at the age of 18 doesn't mean that you truly lived your life. It means you died due to your own stupidity - in most cases for nothing. Those people were shells in every meaning of the word, and shells they received.
