i'm just done. i don't know. i am so tired right now, feel like sleeping. that was too much for me.
let us hope that everybody stayed/stays safe. no human life should be sacrificed in a revolution.

and oh boy, turkey's future just went darker as if it wasn't dark enough. really scary possibilities.
now - of course - everybody will blame "paralel" and the gülen-movement for the coup.

i am also really suprised that even a coup ATTEMPT was possible, considering all the precautions erdogan did against that in the military. well, apparently not the whole military was involved, only air force and gendarmerie with lower rank soldiers (?). but still, how did they organize all this? and without somebody knowing about it?

and then erdogan and mosques calling people up in the streets while there are tanks and jets and soldiers, that's just calling for civil war and casualties.

everything is so confusing. i just... don't know man.

in the end, the best revolutions are when they happen in the minds, not with weapons.

Man this is so shit. I really wish the entire military did the coup and just mowed down those people. All I want is to see those pro Shittogan people massacred. =(

Now people are taking fucking selfies in the streets... it's a joke of a coup, if it even is one and isn't like Miney said some kind of Erdogan's plot to gain even more popularity.

You'd think if thats actually staged, it would lead up to a even heavier backslash once found out.

I don't believe it is staged (many people have died so far), but i also don't believe it's much of a success. From what i've heard only a part of the army was in on the coup so the pro-erdogan side still has plenty of military left to fight for them. Also the video's i've seen seem to show that the military is at least not trying to kill people trying to stop them. People were climbing onto tanks and they could easily have been killed but instead the soldiers try to push them off and scare them off with warning shots.

Yeah, the videos i saw showed just that. Looks tense, but less agressive than what i've seen at some demonstrations here...

I mean its good that they're not slaughtering people, but i question how effective this is if the tanks and soldiers are swamped in the masses.

Only 17 officers died, a few civilians and some "pro-coup" soldiers that were slaughtered by the common folk and the jets.
That's not "many" at all, and falls perfectly within the logical boundaries of a staged coup.

Now, if we were talking about hundreds of civilians and half the city burning from tank/aircraft shells, that would be a different thing.

Read up on all the previous coups - they had MUCH more impact than this shitty excuse for one.
I was seriously hyped to see the entire military (or at least the majority of it) unleash its might on the Shittogan protesters. Sadly, nothing like that will happen.

I guess i overstated it when i said many, but what i ment is that military people have killed civilians, only to get erdogan more popular? Pretty fucked up military you got there if they do that.

We both know that there have been far worse things done in history to ensure the success of a cause.

Only God knows why Erdogan wants more power, but you can clearly see that he's been slowly but surely building his dictatorship over the years.

If this is a legitimate coup, I pray it isn't the last one, but if it isn't, fuck this whole thing. Either way, those police officers died for no reason, doing their job to the last breath.

While the terrorist attack yesterday was surely tragic, this is (if its a real coup) a much more significant event, even if less people die. Not to mention the fighting still is going on.

Livefeed said that's a military guy killed by pro-erdogan people. If you look at some of the videos you can see the army is wearing short sleeves.

Yeah but the rest said it's a lie to spread hatred, and I'm inclined to believe them - military personnel tonight all had the same uniforms, but this guy is in a plain shirt and has no combat boots either, so definitely not a military guy, unless the people undressed him and put on fresh clothes. :p

Either way, he's not a cop 10000%, so Miney still got it wrong - people other than those cops died. I even saw a vid of a heli firing into a group of people and some of them were seriously wounded, so I'm definitely inclined to believe there are more dead than just 17 cops.
