Gal Civ doesn't allow you to do that tho. You need to research tech that allows you to invade others which also costs shittons of money. Good luck doing a classic zerg rush. :V

Not to mention, if you SOMEHOW happen to start with an enemy within range of earlytech reach modules, good luck exterminating 20k soldiers with 500, of an equal tech level. (500 is the max amount you can load into a single loading capsule, atleast was in gal civ 2).
Of course you can put more loading modules on an ship than that, but they are 1. costy, 2. need lots of energy, 3. earlygame hulls just dont have much energy to spend.

You absolutely need superior tech and/or atleast preinvasion attack techs (like drone strikes or outright death rays) to successfully invade an planet, lest alone the capitol planet!

People said GC3 is better than GC2 so I started out with 3 and let me tell you, so far I really like the game. Although the maps could be a bit bigger. If I pick anything less than Insane map size, 7 AI + me won't fit unless I want to have an empire consisting of 8 planets at most.

Civ does the same thing - Its to promote earlyish conflicts over territority.

Too bad I can't play on maps bigger than 180 x 9whatever because hurr durr fuck you. I want to have HUGE territories, countries of 60+ cities fighting with serious micromanagement and not some bullshit 3 city civ fighting another 3 city civ.

That's exactly the reason I halved the science costs of additional cities. I agree policies should be much more expensive with new cities, but not fucking science - it makes no sense at all.
