Most people I grew up with never got bullied in school, including me. I must be living in a weird bubble.
I was just asking because it's a topic that interests me, and I seem to be surrounded by bullied kids on all sides nowadays.

Some of them still believe that it's them against the rest of the world and it saddens me greatly.

It's not so bad anymore now but for most of my highschool time whenever someone i didn't know randomly said something to me i assumed it was with bad intentions.

you're fucking hilarious I've been laughing at this for solid 5 minutes

for many people these memories remain alive and follow them around. we're most fragile around our teenage years I believe and sadly such events really shape people and make them unable to let go.
some people believe that they "grew" out of it, but you can still see how these events haunt them in the smallest details. I find it quite saddening that for way too many people school years weren't a pleasant experience.

Well I guess there was this one guy who kept giving me a hard time for putting time into drawings and school. I didn't really have any friends nearby and had a surplus of time, so sometimes I'd get excited for certain projects and come to class with a lot of shit drawn out and written from home. I vividly remember preparing a huge presentation for Earth Day, coming in with posters, drawings, and notes. So when this guy tried to make fun of me for having practically no life later that day, I punched him in the face.

About a year before that, there was this guy (his nickname was 8ball) who kept asking me for math homework every morning. At first I always gave it to him, but then I told him to start doing it himself until I stopped sharing it with him. He would then act aggressively around me at all times from that point onward. However, I would be much more confused than offended since what he did was borderline retarded. I mean, he would, over the years until his inevitable dismissal from school (3 year period), deliberately lose my things or talk smack at me. But it was so over the top and out of left field that it wasn't very effective bullying.

For example, I never had a cutting edge phone in school. I remember having a poopy nokia with like a 12x12 display or something and 8ball knew this. He showed off his iphone at me saying "look at your shitty phone and look what mine can do." He opened an app that basically made it seem like his phone was a beer glass he was chugging and went through the motions as flashily as possible. "I bet you wish you could do this," he said. I simply looked at him confused and said "no?" but by that point he had strutted away triumphantly.

Beyond that I often kept to myself so I didn't deal with many bullies.
