What about the Steam Controller? It has dual trackpads, accelerometer, gyroscope and stuff.
It's pretty neat, too expensive for my taste atm and it has too many features that I'd barely use (my main need for controllers are for emulation)

I personally hate the xbox controller design and I'd never buy one. If only the gamecube controller had enough buttons, I could play everything on it

The new hardware only supports win10
Still says they support win7-10 on nvidias site. (linux & freebsd too)
and im sure microsoft is ending support for win7 & 8 soonish.
Win 8 mebby, win7 is still widely used so it's gonna take a while until they stop shipping security updates.
Go linux and forget about most games and the new hardware?
As long as you care about games, no reason to change (dualbooting is kinda nice, but like I play games anyway)
