Depending on the condition, I usually do any of these when random people try to talk to me but I'm not in the mood to have a conversation:
1. Give a hand sign that means a big "NO".
2. Walk away without looking them in the eye.
3. Give dead end response.

It does the job most of the time. Maybe I'm just good at giving unfriendly and untouchable aura, I'm not sure.

The guy who was reported missing yesterday has been found. He ran away because his parents doesn't approve of his girlfriend and he's living in a cheap apartment in another town.

Solved quicker than I had expected.

A guy I know in elementary and high school was reported as missing to the police yesterday. I'm not particularly close to him, but we do know each other. It feels a bit weird when things like this happen to someone you know and have talked to.
