I will make this thread more clean once we have some people in this horrifying evento.
I've been thinking of this for a while and now I will make it real. Let's make a racing season. This is how it works in a nutshell. You paint your car, fill the required info and then let AI do rest of the job. With good placements you can spend points to upgrade your AI skills. The game we are using is NASCAR. Why NASCAR? Because dem features.
There are a total of 36 races in this season. My plan is to stream the races every Sunday, but by request I can also start a second race on Wednesday to speed up this long ass event. Before the actual race, AI will compete in the qualifying stage which will tell us the starting position for the drivers.
Here are some info that would be nice to be filled. * means shit is absolutely needed.
First & Last Name*
This doesn't need to be your own name since you are the manager after all. Just make sure that it sounds like a name.
Useless number between (00)0-999 that is required for some reason. If people don't want to be bothered with this useless number, I can always assign numbers based on registration order.
SP feature, feel free to shitpost this one to oblivion.
SP feature as well but if we can make teams of 2, that would be awesome. NASCAR has their teams a bit random but I feel like F1 approach might be a bit cooler despite the chassis you choose. If you don't have a friend to make a team, apply yourself as solo and I will put you to a random, premade team which name will suck.
Chevrolet / Dodge / Ford / Pontiac - these don't have much difference in looks but for the car paint reasons please mention this.
You will need Photoshop/Paint.NET for this since we are playing around with tga-files. GIMP should work too.
Chevrolet Barebones Template
Dodge Barebones Template
Ford Barebones Template
Pontiac Barebones Template
There is also an ability to paint your pit crew but I am not sure if people are interested of painting something that barely is visible. By request I can upload pit crew file as well.
This is how AI skills work. All drivers starts with MIN 30 and MAX 50 rating. This means that every time a race happens, the game randomly picks a number between 30 and 50. Simple? Almost. If you get placed well, you earn some skill points as listed below.
1st place: 10 skill points
2nd place: 9 skill points
3rd place: 8 skill points
4th place: 7 skill points
5th place: 6 skill points
6th place: 5 skill points
7th place: 4 skill points
8th place: 3 skill points
9th place: 2 skill points
10th place: 1 skill point
10th+ place: No skill points
With these skill points you can upgrade your driver in two ways. Increasing your MAX value by 1 costs 1 skill point, while increasing your MIN value by 1 costs 2 skill points. So keep in mind that even if you upgrade, it doesn't mean you are becoming super OP. Not right away at least. 100 is the absolute max for the both values.
But here's the catch. Here are all the skills with their own MIN & MAX ratings.
Patience level when attempting a pass or blocking. High aggression may increase the chance of driver error.
Ability to run consistent laps. Note that it is possible to be consistently SLOW. Consistency also affects the chance of driver error.
The ability to finish a race well. Drivers with a high Finishing rating will get stronger as the race nears its end.
Overall performance in Qualifying sessions only.
Overall performance on road courses.
Overall performance on tracks under one mile in length.
Overall performance on ovals between one and two and a half miles which do not mandate the use of a restrictor plate.
Overall performance on ovals of two and and half miles and over, including those at which a restrictor plate is mandated.
The ability of the car to slip through the air with a minimum of drag. A higher Aero rating means less drag, which translates to more speed.
Chance for mechanical failure. Higher reliability translates to a lower chance of such an occurrence.
12 is minimum, 32 sounds like a good maximum. Once the season has started, I won't take new drivers anymore so act quick. To get in, just post the needed info in this thread or if you are an outsider, email me at email@example.com or use Discord/Steam/TS/whatever..
or questions that I guess people would ask
Do I need to have the game?
No, you are not playing the game at all.
Do I have to watch the streams?
No. I don't think anyone is insane enough to watch all of it anyway. All races will be full in terms of length which means about 2 hours of cars doing 200-400 laps. I only stream it so people can occasionally take a look how their car is doing.
Do I have to spend my points right away?
No. You don't even need to spend your points if you feel super lazy.
How do I spend my points?
1. PM me in Tuuba Forum
3. PM me in Steam/Discord/TS
Is there a deadline for spending points?
It would be the best if you send your points a day before the race. You don't lose your points if you miss the deadline, they will be saved for the next race.
Are there any restrictions in the paint jobs?
Make sure it's Twitch friendly and all is good. Other than that, go fucking wild.
I don't like my paint job anymore. Can I change it?
Between races, yes.
I lost interest. What happens to my driver?
Your driver keeps driving without the manager. Poor soul. ;___;
Fuck my driver is a fucking noob why is he last place omg!!!!!!?
