Feels good to be a glorious NEET again. I was lying in bed early in the morning at 12:00 contemplating getting up and browsing the internet when my phone rang. I ignored it but they kept ringing, three four times. I was getting pissed at this point so I got up to find out who dared to disturb my rest. It was my job employment provider, turns out they had a possible job for me and that I had to create a resume and hand it in by this afternoon. Considering I had a meeting with them yesterday and they said I needed to have a resume in one week's time, I told them it was a bit early for them to ask this of me. I promptly started getting lectured about how I should be very eager to go back into wageslavery but as they did this my phone mysteriously turned off and wouldn't go back on again so they couldn't call me again.

Speaking of which, i went to the Buchmesse (Book Con) in Frankfurt and bought a full color edition of Ghost in the Shell (all chapters), was a great deal for only like 50€! Also some swedish book. Or was it norse? Not sure.
Gonna read it when im done consuming vidya like a starved addict.

Aoe2 is fun but anyone who is slightly experienced with the game will stomp the crap out of any number of noobs who haven't played much before.

Tbhq, in RTSes in general: dont go competive/online until you can beat the highest AI setting comfortably without cheating nor cheesy strategies. (AIs dont tend to deal well with walls and archers behind them, walking around the entire wall rather than blasting trough...)

The original gwent in the witcher was... insanity to say the least. Huge power combos, massive swings and insanely OP spy cards. They changed this, which I think was a good idea if you want to make a somewhat serious/competitive game, but I just don't like the changes tbh.

The game feels extremely stale. Everything is about ''power'' from what I gather from my 2~3 hours I played now. Nearly all cards have effects or abilities, but most of them are just ''deal damage to another unit''. DMG and HP are now one factor, meaning if a 7 attack unit takes 5 damage, they turn into a 2 attack unit. But nearly every card has 6~9 total power. So either they are a vanilla 8 power card, or a 4 power card that deals 4 damage. This just makes everything stale as fuck. Even though every card played is different, the amount of power they put on the board is fundamentally the same. Getting a swing in gameplay is pretty rare and can really only be achieved through weather effects or just retarded plays. Or OP cards. I'm still playing with the starter cards, but there is a very very clear power creep present already. One card has 2 attack and deals 5 dmg. Another card has 6 attack and deals 4 dmg. One is 7 power in total, one 10.

Another problem is card advantage. Card advantage is absolutely ridiculous in this game. Seeing how nearly every card falls in the 6~9 power category, having an extra card over your opponent pretty much means you've won the game. Which is also why the monster class atm is the strongest. Their passive effect allows for one randomly chosen minion to stay on their board. So if you play a 12 power OP Geralt card on round one, it's going to stay there for the next round. And considering there is NO other card that outclasses Geralt, the opponent is forced to play atleast 2 cards to win the round. But now they are a card behind + your 12 power Geralt stays for the next round, so they pretty much will lose the next two rounds unless you fuck up real bad.

In the end, I think I'm just salty it's not more like the original gwent. wwwwwwww

Hmm sorry sil, i think i like AoM better than AoE2. .___. Like... it plays better. It looks better too.

Also why cant i chain researches/units together, selecing a research hides all buttons. AoM is much more streamlined in that i can do that, plus for unit fighting i can group and quick select them (and buildings too, so building 5 archery ranges, selecting them all and vomiting out archers is a good idea, and i can make reinfocements this way while in looking at a battle.)

You can do that on AOE2 as well. Except for chain research, but not like that's really a big issue.

neet life is best life, you just have to find the good activities, i personally never get bored and i would be pissed to suddenly find a job and have my free time reduced by 50%
