I thought games used to be hard because of their shortness and by making the game harder you could potentially increase the replay value of the game.

That being said, playtesters really have affected stuff. They also killed cheat codes that developers were using before hiring playtesters.

But now they're adding cheat codes back in, with different names... And charging money for them "as a service".

This game reminds me of some very very old surviva/horror(not sure bout horror) where you were victim of a cave in and trapped in a cave sytem, with nothing but an flashlight and an almost empty battery. Might just be the very same game actually.

I'll roll a random game tomorrow ranging from several retro platforms. It might be a good game or it might be a very terrible game. We'll see how it goes.

It's time to play and discuss the retro game of the week. Every week from now on I will use the gauntlet to gather all random games into one list and then use list randomizer to select the game of the week. It will be only one roll and no extra rolls will be thrown unless the game has already been played.

We are already starting with uncommon stuff and this week we are going to take a look at Out Run Europa from Sega Game Gear.

Before someone manages to ask, Fusion plays Game Gear ROMs.

EDIT: My first impressions are that the game is a little bit choppy but holy shit that soundtrack is superb.

EDIT: Not a bad game. Interesting to think that needed a console to run. Now-a-days you just play it in a web browser. Graphics look glitchy/not smooth, espesially the tree sprites, but the music is nice. 6/10, addictive as fuck... ok fuck is a tad more addicting, but still.

I'm assuming you already defeated the helicopter on the second level, how many shots did it take?

Wait... you had to shoot the helicopter? YOU.CAN SHOOT IN THIS GAME? Why am I finding this out right now? I kept pushing cars and dodging things.

Yeah but in the first level you can't shoot. I got this information from the official manual (that was for Master System but seems to be same thing for Game Gear) - you can use bullets and mortars on later levels.

Well I made it to level 4 without shooting.

I'm guessing shooting the helicopter is pointless then because instead of driving around I tried to shoot it, getting myself into its line of fire.

You are also pretty close at the end of the game, according to the manual there are 5 levels.

Fun game. The soundtrack is good and you can go SANIC fast. What else do you need + need to play more. Mara is too good mara

EDIT: Second try. Got to the third level but those red cars are annoying as hell.
