yeah no that was a 20 second attempt at getting my shit in order and seeing if I could go on with my webcam mic
I couldn't because it made a bad static noise
I still haven't been able to find my mic good stuff

OC'd my CPU to 4.8GHz

I should actually do the whole raising voltage thing and seeing how far this i5 can go. 4.5 with basically stock voltages is ok but we need to go higher.

it's worth it. i went down to 4.6GHz for stability despite 4.8GHz working fine unless I uncapped FPS in CPU-heavy games and ran them for 2 hrs. 4.8 was also raising concerns after half-hour stress testing (97ºC -> throttling to 4.5-4.6 GHz) which made me not want to keep it that way, though I definitely could if I were careful with capping FPS in games.
also, remember to use offset VCore when messing with voltages, it's very worth it despite being so much more fucking work, mine isn't optimised for 4.6GHz yet and fuck if I'm going to bother doing it before tomorrow.
also, if my computer hasn't crashed by the time I get home from school, that's a pass and I don't need to touch anything

I should probably build a new PC soon, my i7 2600K 3.4GHz that I OC'd to 4.5GHz runs perfectly fine after 5 years, but I'm unsure how long my PSU, Mobo and RAM will last, def need to upgrade to a GTX1080 from my shitty GTX780 though.

my 780's still kicking without issues (modern games outside of DX11 are more taxing on CPU than GPU outside VRAM than one might think) and i have zero stability issues at 4.6GHz with my i7-2600K after putting it under some load during the night, might kick it up to 4.7 and see where that takes me. what could be wrong with your RAM? there's still really good DDR3-sticks on the market and depending on how much you spent on your mobo back in the day, it's probably still good to go until you need to upgrade your CPU (which you won't for a while, the i7-2600K is one of the best pieces of hardware intel has ever shat out, hook that bitch up with liquid cooling and it clocks up to 5GHz no problemo, no software will be optimised well enough for a couple years that you'll need more cores than what you already have and i7-2600K is really good at hyperthreading)

Unsurprisingly haswell i5 crushes sandy vagina i7 in anything that doesn't multithread past 4 threads.
(tfw RX 480 outperforms a 780)
