nah I just mean it gets absolutely ridiculous and bulky to navigate the thread. for example, lolcow (an imageboard) has a post limit of 1200 per thread, threads balloon to an enormous size, and this is a page without fancy interactive design beyond 'hover to see image previews'. example here: https://lolcow.farm/pt/res/494863.html (site is 18+ and may contain partially nude people and other things you might disagree with)
now think about o!forums, where ITT currently has 51852 posts, in shitty forum-type formatting which bulks the page up about twice as fast.
however, like you pointed out, if you feel like going to find something that was posted 2 weeks ago, as I did just then for the sake of this post, your options are along the lines of hoping you get the approximate post number right, or scrolling and scrolling and scrolling (and no, it doesn't look like they've implemented any kind of un-loading part of the page when you get far enough from it, so eventually shittier browsers will start kicking the bucket from the amount of content you have open).
btw aurani your sig is broken in the new forums if you care, I think they're enforcing a set sig height and yours goes past that
