Because pointing out that no major company will ever give you free shit for no reason is being overly criticising. All it looks like to me here is a bunch of people who bought the game being butthurt about it being criticised at all.
God forbid we have a healthy discussion over it without becoming Tumblr.
You could take a look at IppE's post or that of Fuz and quickly conclude that they don't agree with me either, but I can sure as fuck talk to them without being called a Nazi or blamed for triggering the poor fans.

Thing is, essentially it is free; you just have to work for it.
One reason I switched from DOTA 2 into League was because I didn't like the fact that all the heroes were unlocked from the start.
A lot of people don't like things being available at the start. When I play an RPG with a new game+ available, I'd rather start a completely new game instead of a new game+ because that feeling of progression is the kick I get from playing those kinds of games.

a lot of video game companies are greedy, especially with the DLC wave that happened a few years ago
if they can add a thing that will get them extra money they will do it, and if i was a video game manager or whatever is it called, i would do it as well. as long as the stuff you buy with real money is obtainable by simply playing the game i'm ok with it because i have a lot of free time
paid DLCs that add bonus missions or maps to a game are stupid and shouldnt exist, but dumb people are still buying that game + season pass bundle for 90€ so i don't think it will stop anytime soon

If you're going to have a DLC for a game they should at least make it long and worth it. Blood and Wine DLC for Witcher 3 was at least 30 hours long and implemented alot of new things. That's longer than most games for a much cheaper price so that was a DLC done right.

The main problem with Overwatch is the fact that the loot boxes are something that could VERY EASILY have been completely free, IE something unavailable for purchase. If this were a few years ago, I guarantee that'd be the case.
I don't have much of a problem with the microtransaction system myself, aside from the fact I'd rather there not be one, but the loot boxes themselves seem like a good feature to keep a player invested into the game.
It's such a shame about the tickrate bullshit. If the tickrate were reasonable I'd see myself buying the game in a heartbeat, since it does so many things I want from a FPS.

i would follow you if you criticised the bad parts of the game like the shitty 20 tick servers and lack of dedicated servers, but for me the box system is not a bad part of the game, at least they managed to keep the "cash-shop" system fair (even if it shouldnt be here in a pay to play game, but like i said we are in 2016 and companies are greedy)

Good DLCs are kind of rare these days. Only companies I can think of on top of my head right now that release good DLCs are CD Projekt Red, Fromsoft and despite me not liking them, Bethesda.

Shit, I fucked up by wrongly recording the USD to RMB exchange rate, which led to a calculation mistake, and came up with a price of around 60 USD.
Don't use “thought” verbs too much: thinks, understands, loves, hates, and a hundred others. Instead of characters knowing, present the details that allow the reader to know them. Instead of a character wanting something, describe the thing so that the reader wants it. Only specific sensory detail: smell, taste, and sound.

Well I can't comment on things that I haven't experienced myself, and as I've only played the game for roughly 40 minutes I can't talk about server issues or long-term game ones that I haven't stumbled upon.
Like I said, we don't have to agree as long as we both understand that big companies aren't making games because they love them or their fans, but because they want to earn money from them, and fans just happen to be walking bags of cash that they'd do anything for to get inside.

In my opinion, companies that put microtransactions in their game after already making you spend 40 bucks on the game itself are just a buncha moneygrabbing douchebags.
If it's free to play that rewards you for grinding and put a little bit of micro on the side for people with too much money on their hands, perfectly fine.
It's the reason I gave up on Payday 2 TBH, releasing dozens of DLCs that cost half the game each even though they add less than 10% of the original content and then they add microtransaction to the mix, fuck them.
yo P2 went back to F2P with no dlc now though so that's cool, it seems like it was the publisher's fault and I have ok hopes for P3

that's a hilariously bad example though, league literally removes game functionality and you have to either grind very hard or pay money to unlock said functionality (masteries are pure grind, t3 runes + champs are grind or pay)
I do kind agree that dota needs more handholding in the beginning since right now it's very difficult going into it alone, and they should enforce limited heroes on people just starting off/suggest some starter heroes publicly, but league's system is pure shit
and yet again I do not understand while people are so butthurt about some fucking hats and recolours

LoL system is fine if you're an early player, but now that there is 130 champions it's kind of shitty for new players
they should have done something like Smite and release a pack that gives you all champions and the future ones for like 30$, im pretty sure they would have made more money with that than with people buying champions individually with real money

Nah the LoL system is bad. One currency isn't enough to buy all the champs and runes you need. I still don't mind it or care nonetheless.

I've essentially quit it altogether now, wasn't enjoying it and between that and all the new no solo queue + general 'if you like to play solo fuck you' it was a natural choice to drop it altogether
I've managed to unlock like maybe 1/5 of the pool in two and a half years of playing on and off

Oh I've been playing since season 1 so I've pretty much got everything you could possibly have on my main account.
