Not to mention, you can literally get 45 champions right at the start by paying 20 bucks if you hate grinding that much, and there are frequent sales that give you champs for not even an hour worth of working.

I grinded my champs the old-fashioned way, since I wanted to work towards a certain champion. My first 6.3 was Panth, followed by Fiora and then Cait. I swear to all the gods when I bought Fiora I was the happiest kid around. I couldn't wait to get my hands on her and "make some plays".
Same goes for Ezreal when I first bought him. It was a Tuesday morning, right before school, and I was so happy that all I thought about was when I'll get back home and turn on my PC. I LOVED the "grind" towards most champions back when I just started playing the game, and those moments will be the ones I remember when I stop playing video games altogether.

I miss that feeling really badly, as nowadays all I look at are stats and the general strategy. I haven't felt that thrill ever since season 2, and that was so long ago...

Over here Overwatch is $90 AUD. No thanks.

TF is a basic shooter with characters as generic as possible where you mix your own playstyle together out of different guns (which is basically just a step forward from your typical fps that has no classes and only guns).

You know, pretty much every FPS has a class system.

And I've always found Skyrim combat fun. But if you have an overpowered character that's gonna turn the game into spamming attack while you don't need to bother blocking or dodging yourself. Try it on legendary where in some cases you have to hit a guy 100+ times while you die in 1-2 hits.

I've never really liked that aspect about rpgs, I'd much prefer me and the enemy being on equal ground.

This is why I love stalker on master, sure the enemies die from one well placed hit but they can also kill you with a similarly placed hit.

Yeah, I do play it on legendary though.  Only thing I like about Bethesda games were the survival aspect if you applied mods and not going for the hardest difficulty kind of defeats the purpose.

Mobile games are an entirely different can of worms when it comes to that shit.

I don't know; Skyrim's combat system was never dynamic enough for it to appeal to me. Still, I do like playing at the toughest difficulty in games like Dragon's Dogma, the Witcher, or Dark Souls since the threat of insta-death at all times forces you to play smart. It's satisfying to topple foes with parries and rolls than plowing them down with mere brute strength and stats. However, even when the game facilitates such tense combat, it's always insufferable when the opponent(s) take too many hits to kill. It draws the battles out and the fact that you can die at the drop of a hat means that you can spend ten minutes trying to get past an encounter just to have to start all over again.
