also fun story my dad was on a work trip to that eastern bit of eesti with an estonian colleague who is fluent in russian. they went to a restaurant and she, out of pure refusal to accept that russians exist in such a large majority and speak almost only russian, ordered their food in estonian. the waiter, out of pure refusal to accept that estonians who largely speak russian on an at least communicational level do not speak russian in the russian part of estonia, refused to take their order in estonian despite the shop having their menu in both russian and estonian. they battled with this for a while until the waiter had to give in and be talked to in estonian while responding in russian.

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri turned out to be another stinking pile of shit that has ton of wasted potential and a bad ending like Guilty Crown as expected. Don't use “thought” verbs too much: thinks, understands, loves, hates, and a hundred others. Instead of characters knowing, present the details that allow the reader to know them. Instead of a character wanting something, describe the thing so that the reader wants it. Only specific sensory detail: smell, taste, and sound.
