It's just IppE and Mara collecting fuckbuddies from games/chats. :p

I don't really care where someone is coming from as long as they're intriguing enough to talk to. Gladi surprised me very much recently, so I hope more actually interesting people come here.

I rarely even play games with random people.

no

Yeah, except most "random" password generators arent random at all. Most use the current time (in nanoseconds), cpu cycles or something as seed and sell that as "random". All you need is to figure out what algorythm these use and boom passwords = royally rekt.

Master password stuff also has the risk of... well if that one is cracked, EVERYTHING is gone. No... just no.

ya ok

What people don't realise at all is that a strong password isn't one that's ofqhwbiot129125y1923htoqfjkmweogh3t18i932tq3hti9q3kFhQAWIWEGHBQ#8ti123th9123thnFFIKqHBNFIQwet1q23yht91234r5124hfgnEI"f but a password that's regularly changed. Little will your shitty 92 digit password do if you use it for 7 years.

also wrong you can use the same password for the entirety of the foreseeable future as long as you do not use it elsewhere

Granger wrote:

A regulary changed password is not any more secure as one that is not... all it does is boot off people that already got it and kills crackers current progress of figuring your password out (assuming they dont simply use random order, which is fairly archiac but lucky motherfuckers exit).

Which is fairly moot if your password is so long it'd take a billon years or so to crack using a cluster of cutting edge tech. Which, frankly, no one of us ever will be attacked with, we're not that important.

What matters is: Symbol variety (letters, numbers, symbols altcodes... etc, the more you have available, the possibilities rise expotentially) and lenght (ditto, the longer, the more possibilities, expotentially) and those expotentially multiply each other.

dance like nobody is watching and encrypt like everyone is. this also applies to passwords.

Granger wrote:

You'd be fucked if you'd rely on this. Its just another attack point you're giving there, which you should avoid.

The more dependencies you have, the more likely it is that something breaks and you're fuk'd. Basically, you want the attacker to know as little as possible (somewhat related: social engineering is actually the more successful method of fishing passwords, over Bruteforcing. Not sure how succesful keyloggers are in relation to these two.) (also this is why sites forcing you to have your password between 6-10 symbols, with numbers and capitalized letters and all too often without alt codes... is stupid*.) and as few attack points as possible.

*Theres some merit for the layman: You can have a cascaded attack where the attacker first uses only letter, then only numbers and and so on, but in general, you're decreasing the amount of valid passwords and thus the time needed to crack them. If theres no such limit on the password the attacker needs to run the number only (etc...) runs first, but if its there, he can skip those passwords altogether! So for the sake for those who dont use number only (or variations), it would be better if these limitations WERENT there.

you would need to rob me in person to have access to my encrypted randomly generated passwords unless you RAT me and download them from my thumb drive, and even then..
eGLicH.png

edit: albeit if you RAT me you would also keylog me decrypting it, granted you are able to RAT me

edit2: would it be harder to steal if i were to pull out my thumb drive after i'm finished decrypting it? since i don't shut down my computer very often i very seldom have to decrypt it

Re: ITT: Pretend we are still writing in osu! OT

Idk why you mentioned me on that list considering I told you that I don't find the security of my Tuuba account important at all, as it has a unique password that's easy to remember in case it autologs me off like it sometimes does. I actually share that password on all of my forums and forums only.
Regardless, yes, it's the name of a very good friend from highschool and her birth year. :p

The pass of my main email where I have my bank account linked as well as PayPal and other important shit is 58 characters long and if the shitty password security site is anything to go by, it probably wouldn't take the machine 7 untrigintillion years to crack it (as the site lists), but would make for a nice and hard boiled egg to crack.

I'm surprised that I'm not on that list. Mine is word + word + word without spaces. It's longer than 10 characters, but I'm pretty sure it could be easily cracked.

Edit: changed my password
