I recommend to use controller but if you really like playing with mouse and keyboard go for it.
My 1st playthrough was with kb+mouse and it was OK. But I recommend to use DSFix and Mousefix.

I tried. Even with the mousefix i can't get it working, i tried for 1 hour every solutions none worked, i see my cursor in game and can't move the camera. The only thing moving when i move my mouse is my mouse cursor.
I give up.

I bought a 360 controller because it was useful for a lot of games.

A 360 controller would be the easiest and I hear some USB controllers now come with the input the 360 controller uses.
A Ps3 controller works just as well, but requires drivers that i'm too dumb to be able to reinstall.
I can only recommend a 360 controller though.
