So those you remember my fightan adventures from last summer, I think it's time for an update. Here are the previous parts for those who missed them.

To start things off, I had a few month break from the game but then I started playing games against AI just to see how much I can remember from the lessons that I got previously. It's currently kind of difficult to get any online matches going since all my friends have been playing this other fighting game all the time (which I will talk about later in this post). Anyway, here's a quick recording of an average game I have against some random AI.

It's hard to compare this with the videos where I was playing against human opponents, but you can see there have been few improvements. While I am still not able to do a single long combo due very bad memory and execution, I am able to do few extra hits now. The most common one you see is the extra attack do I after Hell's Fang. While I really should stop using it so much, it's very nice way to rush fast. Sometimes I also use Gauntlet Hades when I am able to launch the opponent to the air. Inferno Divider with two other extra moves would the best but I just can't remember the other two inputs during battle, even if they are very simple. I need to use the extra move on Gauntlet Hades to get that third attack going on but same reason as before.
That being said, I have no issues with most of the AI characters now. The only tricky one is No.13 that likes to shoot a lot of ranged attacks. It's quite a nice practice to time those blocks tho. Anyway, this is all I can talk about BlazBlue. I haven't been playing it too much after the previous post. I was in Helsinki a week ago and there were a lot of fighting game arcades. While there were a lot of games that I haven't played before, I was able to crush all players that had same experience with fighters as I did last summer. It felt very interesting, it was like I have actually learned a thing or two.
In any case, I have been thinking of picking up an other fighting game, possibly the one with a lot of beginner players to fight against. Unfortunately, fighting games are pretty niche genre with a similar low playerbase as AFPS. I would love to play against some randoms with about the same skill level as I do in BlazBlue but the game is really dead. Here are some of the games I've been giving a shot recently.
GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN-
I heard GUILTY GEAR currently has the most beginners on PC version so I was recommended to play this. I was preparing for this one but then I realized that REVELATOR is out on Steam and all the newbies are playing that instead. SIGN is dead and if I want to play against other people, I have to pay 45 euros. Ouch. It's a shame because this could potentially be my next step on fighting game adventure. There's even a character that is kinda like Ragna.
UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late
This is the game that my friends are currently playing all the time. I got it as a gift and I tried it. Instead of picking up the usual main character from the story, I picked completely different character called Akatsuki that doesn't have a weapon of any sort and just punches the fuck out of everyone. It's cool and stuff, until I tried netplay and I got my ass beat pretty hard. Later I realized that the game handles diagonal movement differently compared to GUILTY GEAR and BlazBlue and I am not able to do crouch block so easily. It leads me to thinking that I am blocking but in fact I am just sitting there, taking a low hit. Apparently there is no fix for this and it's really annoying. Can't play with DPAD either since I'm using 360 controller.
Skullgirls
I'm trying this game next once I'm done with this post. I'd imagine that Skullgirls would have at least few players. Probly not, but still worth giving an arcade mode a shot.
If you guys have any suggestions on what I should try, suggest away. Anyway, here's my fightan adventure update for now. Not much to show but slight improvement from the summer. Doesn't mean anything tho since I still suck massive balls. Journey to get my ass beaten shall continue.
Finishing this post with Ragna's theme, because I fucking love it.

Depending on the opponent character, and if it's AI or not, you might not want to rush into offense instantly unless you know what are you doing. The prime rule of every competitive game is defense before offense, if your opponent has an invincible reversal and intends to use it as soon as he recovers, you might as well block it. If you manage to keep the pressure, approach with either an overhead or a low, most people expect a low. In Ragna's case, one of his overheads is forward+B. And ffs, dont try to hit your opponent when its performing a distortion, Arakune's DD has hitboxes on the sides. And also learn Barrier Guard. I can hit you up with a mentor if you still feel like learning more.
