If I ever get anywhere in gamemaker 2 I am definitely considering using this as a boss theme.
I just have to figure out how to do it legally.

fucking degeneracy
In 1994, the estimated prevalence of transgender was less than 1 in 10,000. According to a poll of millenials reported in a recent cover story in TIME magazine, about 12% - 12 in 100 - millenials now say that they are, or might be, transgender. If that's correct, we've gone from less than 1 in 10,000 to greater than 1 in 10, in less than thirty years.

Yes, large parts of them are fakers, but consider that diagnosis has become more common because better acceptance and availability of information whereas before more actual transgender people repressed or never got the chance to get diagnosed.
What id be interrested in is if this part you quote is selfreported (very large swathes of snowflakes) or actual diagnosis.
Also source, where are you getting this data from?
Life is like a box of chocolates.

you're going to have a hard time convincing me that gender dysphoria is a legitimate diagnosis but that's besides the point

What would you diagnose it as? I see no issue with it being a minor disorder.

symptom of quarter-life crisis, teenage angst, existential anxiety, peter pan syndrome, homosexuality, petty social acceptance of made up conditions, special snowflake syndrome and similar comically almost millennially-exclusive 21st century social stupidities caused by hedonism/escapism and ease of access to online hugboxes with other lowlife inbetweeners that breed a degenerate lifestyle

Mind you, transgender people have existed long, LONG before the invention of internet and it simply doesn't fit into any of those categories. It can't be teenage angst if the person is not a teenager, it can't be quarter-life crisis either, it could be linked to homosexuality (as there have been documented cases in the Roman period where transgender people were sort of "rolemodels" or "idols" for gays), petty social acceptance could be taken as something in this day and age, but certainly not in antiquity when it was completely alright in most cultured societies to be trans... so I can't agree on that one with you. Of course, I'm talking about the actual, proper, cases of trans disorder here - not shitty 1st world tumblrinas who need some teeth knocked out to see that the world is not their litter box.
I personally have nothing against people with the genuine disorder, as it's a completely harmless one unless it renders the person in question unable to live their life in a normal way, but I'm also not going to say that it's not a disorder, because there is obviously something "wrong".
If we're going to focus on "curing" or "accepting" such people, I'm really not surprised that today's world is going to shit. They've been there for thousands of years, and the more "acceptance" or on the other end, "therapies", we give them, the worse the situation will become. Society itself has to realise that they are no issue, nothing new and outrageous and certainly not worth writing articles about as if they were some nigh-extinct species that needs saving.

altho it's most likely just teenage garbage and if you ask them again in 10-20 years this will be much much lower
reminded me of this
edit: I also agree with Aurani 100%.

oh my god blue stig that is a solid 10/10 thank you
Also yeah as for the trans stuff, I think one thing people misunderstand is the idea that we need to have an understanding of the root cause of psychological issues in order to treat them. Regardless of whether or not you think gender dysphoria is its own thing or just a symptom of other problems, the fact remains that people who are diagnosed as such can be treated quite well by allowing them to transition their bodies to the gender they feel comfortable with
also there is no way that the number is 12%, trans people are def less common than gay people so I imagine people just messed with that poll for fun or whatever? or maybe they asked it in a place that has lots more trans people than society overall, maybe it got brigaded, who knows

What do you mean by this? Giving trans people the treatment that they need hardly seems like a problem to me (?). Also, trans people still get a lot of discrimination- it's something you wouldn't see if you're not trans yourself or have close friends that are transgender though. Just like with gay rights/acceptance, it's an ongoing issue in the world where people are being treated badly just because of their gender or sexual identity, which shouldn't really happen in a civilised nation I feel

The reason I said that is because we keep treating them like they're something "special" or "unnatural" and of course they're going to develop serious complexes that span more than just the description of the transgender disorder. It's not their fault they need treatment - they need it because of how they feel in today's society and how the others treat them.
I have a very close friend who is trans and she said the same as I'm saying just now. The worst feeling for her is being treated like an alien, or a medical case - something which both the psychiatrists and ordinary people do frequently.
Now, isn't it funny how a couple of THOUSAND years ago being trans was considered something awkward, but completely alright and accepted as natural, while TODAY we struggle to understand it and reform our society to higher standards.
I feel like today's society is nothing more than some Frankensteinesque creation derived from medieval Church-society standards and covered in clothes of modernity to cover up the fact that it's a steaming pile of shit that cannot remain the same, regardless of how much you spray it with deodorant.

this is the first time I've seen aurelianus have an opinion that isn't complete and utter shit (it's only shit in parts) I'm honestly surprised
my new boyfriend has similar political views to me and it's incredibly nice to not need to worry about triggering him with spooky cultural marxism
