It's not scary, just disturbing. There's no jump scares (or a lack thereof) so you don't need to worry about that; some parts I actually found funny and laughed because of how janky it looked. The fact that you've already been spoiled and know there will be a twist already eliminates a good portion of the experience too. Nothing too bad in my opinion; nothing is animated apart from one specific part so it's not like you'll see some incredibly fucked up shit, just some mildly fucked up shit. I'll even slightly spoil it and say the most fucked up shit you'll see is a girl stabbing herself but that's it. It's more of an acid trip and you'd have to be a massive pussy to be truly frightened of the game while playing it imo. All it does is it gives you that mysterious, disturbing feeling and although that might put you off, the entire experience is great.

As for DS, it's definitely worth a shot. If my opinion is worth anything, it's one of the rare games I went out of my way to support with as much money as I could, despite the game having been gifted to me.
